We provide emotional, physical, and informational support to BAME women and families during the antenatal, labour and delivery, and postnatal stages. Our goal is to ensure the birthing mother feels safe, empowered, informed, respected, heard and supported.
The Role of an Approachable Doula:
• A Doula: A non-medical supporter/assistant who provides comfort measures, support with relaxation and breathing techniques, and encouragement.
• Informed Decisions: Doulas provide informational support to enable mothers to make informed decisions about their care; they DO NOT advise.
• Advocacy: Doulas Defend and protect mum’s right to consent, to saying NO, and to owning decisions.

• A Doula is NOT a professional, expert, saviour, advisor, clinician, midwife, or medical personnel.
• A Doula must NEVER perform clinical, midwifery, or medical tasks, diagnose medical conditions, or give medical advice.
• Doulas are NOT responsible for household duties, cleaning, cooking, or babysitting other children.
